Happy September!

Hope everyone is enjoying this nice fall weather. Residents have been taking advantage of the weather by spending time on the porch either relaxing or doing activities. This nice weather also means more fishing and golf cart rides!

During the month of September, we have a lot to celebrate. National Environmental Services week is September 6th – 12th. Please be sure to give our housekeepers a big THANK YOU for keeping our facility looking nice and clean! To celebrate Labor Day, we will be making Labor Day thank you cards. Grandparents Day is Sunday, September 13th.  Since we can’t directly do an activity with our love ones on Grandparents Day, we will have visitations from 9AM to 3PM. You can follow this link or call us, and we can sign you up for a time!

Lastly, in September we celebrate World Alzheimer’s Month. Raising money and awareness for Alzheimer’s is something that is very important because memories matter! Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association by logging onto their website. Please consider donating to this amazing cause!

Each month, the activity department is challenged to come up with new activities around a specific theme and this month is wildlife. Our wildlife activities include creating a seed painting mosaic, baking pig cookies, making a wildlife sticker picture frame, watching wildlife videos, and making a tissue paper lion. In September we also have many activities based around apples including a fun game of apple bingo with apples & caramel, making a candy apple craft, and playing the game apples to apples. We are living on the wild side and doing tattoos with our happy hour on September 16th at 2:15 pm. On September 21st we will being having a wine and cheese tasting. Lastly, to spice up the masks at the nursing home we will be tie dying them!
