Letter from Leann
Thank you to everyone who came to our 50th Anniversary party and helped us celebrate a whopping 50 years of kind.compassionate.care. Fever River String Band was very entertaining and the residents really enjoyed some of their old-time favorites. A huge thank you to Preston Taylor and Renee Taylor for providing the funnel cakes. They were so delicious and Preston deserves a gold medal for working over the hot fryer in the extreme heat that day! Also, thank you to the Wolken family and Ice Cream Island for donating ice cream that was served along with our birthday cake. It is much appreciated! Although there have been many changes at Monticello Nursing and Rehab throughout the past 50 years, our dedication and commitment to providing quality care for our residents remains unchanged. We are so grateful to our founders, for their vision and determination to providing long term care options to the seniors in the Monticello community and for our residents and their families who fill our lives with so much joy every day. Thank you for allowing us to care for you.
This month we will participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End ALZ. The Cedar Rapids walk is scheduled for Saturday, September 29th at the McGrath Amphitheater. Registration begins at 8:30am and the opening ceremony is at 9:30am, with walk to follow. We would love for you to join our walk team. You can register online by going to ALZ.org and follow the prompts to join our team, Monticello Nursing and Rehab. We will also be doing some fundraising activities this month as well to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support, and research. For information and to join the cause, contact Leann at 319-465-5415.
