Happy October!  Thank you to everyone who came to our end of summer family picnic.  After a stormy morning, the clouds cleared and we were able to enjoy a beautiful evening outdoors, with a picnic-style meal, awesome “Music by Clay” and bingo.  It was great to see you all!  As we look ahead, October is celebrated as “Physical Therapy Month”.  Physical therapy treatments focus on improving strength, range of motion, balance, coordination and help our residents maintain their highest level of independence.  We appreciate our physical therapists for all their hard work and commitment to the overall well-being of the residents.  Our physical therapy team also provides outpatient services.  If you are needing some strengthening, have noticed some difficulties with balance, a general decline in mobility, etc. talk to your doctor about the benefits of physical therapy.  Outpatient physical therapy is covered under Medicare Part B and requires a doctor’s order.  The week of October 6th is also recognized as “Food Service Workers Week”.  Thank you to our dietary team who work hard every day to prepare a great meal, meeting various nutritional needs of our residents.  I hope everyone enjoys a safe and healthy October.  As a reminder, watch for slow moving vehicles (tractors) on the roadways as our farmers prepare for a bountiful harvest!
