Happy Fall everyone!

During the month of October, you will see several activities based on Fall/Halloween. October is National Pumpkin Month. To start off the month we will be having Tanya make some yummy pumpkin mousse.  We will play some fun Halloween games throughout the month. The crafts we are making are puffy ghosts, dunkin pumpkins, Halloween necklaces, lollipop ghosts, black cats, and pumpkin pie craft. We will be taking a bus trip to a pumpkin patch on the 22nd. The bus will load at 1pm.

October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancer among American woman.  I ask that both residents and staff wear pink on Wednesday the 10th to show our support for education, advancing research and to honor all those who fought the disease in hopes that one day no one will have to fight it again. A group picture will be taken at 10am for those wearing pink. Bracelets will be handed out so residents can wear them throughout the month.

Pastoral Appreciation Week is October 20th-26th. Church service is something that is very important to our residents. We have a rotation of church services the first Wednesday of each month at 2:30 pm, Communion for Catholics on the second Tuesday of each month at 1:15 pm, Lutheran Communion on the third Thursday of each month at 10:30 am, Rosary every Thursday at 10:00 am and Bible Study for those who would like to attend. A big thank you to all of our spiritual caregivers, ministers, pastors, priest and volunteers. We appreciate each and every one of you!

Lastly, in October we celebrate Halloween. To celebrate we will be having our Halloween Happy Hour Party on October 31st starting at 2:15 pm in the main dining room. Wear your best costume and join the fun for food, drinks, and games. That night we welcome all children to come trick-or-treating at the Monticello Nursing and Rehab. Residents will be passing out candy from 6:00-7:30 pm. Candy donations are welcome and appreciated!

Have a Happy Halloween!
