Happy May everyone!
First, I would like to take the time to introduce myself. I started my nursing career 10 years ago in Long term care and decided that was my true calling. I have been with Monticello Nursing and Rehab for the past 3 years and have enjoyed taking care of our residents as a charge nurse, assistant director of nursing, and now as the Director of Nursing. I am excited to see what new experiences and lessons I will learn in this role.
In May we will celebrate Nurse’s week the 6th – 12th. We will take a little extra time to recognize the amazing nurses that provide the best care to our residents. They have been through a lot this past year and have remained dedicated to the facility and residents. So, we would like to sincerely Thank them for that.
I would also like to remind families that we are open for visitations. We do follow the CDCs recommendations and masks must be worn at this time. Feel free to call the facility to set-up a time for visits. With the weather getting warmer ask staff about visiting with loved ones outside. Also take with staff about making arrangements for some spring cleaning of resident’s closets.
I look forward to talking with families during care conferences, and as always if concerns arise, I am available Mon-Friday 8am-5pm.
