Activities in Action

Hello from Activities! Let’s hope Spring is here to stay so we can get out and enjoy some fresh air and soak up some sunrays. We have a very busy month ahead of us. We start off the month by making May Day baskets with materials provided by Above and Beyond, plan to have a Cinco De Mayo party on May 5th, and will have a weeklong celebration for Nursing Home Week from May 9th- 15th.

We kick off Nursing Home Week by celebrating our mothers with a Mother’s Day parade at 10AM. Monday’s events include an obstacle course in the morning and a four seasons of food cooking demonstration with Chef Kevin in the afternoon.  Tuesday, we are having an animal parade starting at 10:00 am in our parking lot. We are asking that staff, families, and community members participate by bringing their pets for all to enjoy. Later that day staff and residents will participate in fun minute to win it games. Wednesday morning, we will enjoy some beach games and shaved ice from Kona Ice Truck followed by a performance by Elvis at 2:15 pm. Thursday morning staff and residents will participate in a pie walk. Pie donations are welcome and appreciated by Wednesday, May 12th! A grill out with tailgating games will be provided in the parking lot for staff and residents that afternoon. Friday, we celebrate the winter season with reindeer hunting and a snowball fight. Per usual, we will have bingo Friday afternoon, but this week staff will participate as well. To end the week a slideshow through the season of 2020 will be shown for all to see!

Although we cannot have families and the community directly participate with us for our weeklong celebration, we thought you could join us in our special dress up days. Take pictures wearing your “seasoned” attire and tag us on Facebook!
