Nursing News
We are celebrating our wonderful nurses this month! May 6-12 is National Nurses Week and we hope you appreciate our nurses’ hard work and caring treatment as much as we do! Take a few moments to say ‘thank you’ for everything they do.
As the days get warmer, residents and families like to enjoy time outside. Please alert the nursing staff if you are going outside and ensure they have protection from the sun. The elderly have thin, sensitive skin that burns easily. We also have a screened in porch to visit in to enjoy the outside air but is shaded.
Many residents have had the opportunity to meet Jennifer Driscoll, ARNP. She is working along with Dr. Weston. Each week Jen will be meeting with residents on Tuesdays and Fridays for routine visits and acute issues that arise. She is a wonderful addition to our team.
Another reminder, all medications need to be managed by the nurses. Please do not bring in any medications or ointments into the facility. We can get an order from the doctor and the pharmacy will send these. Cough drops, vicks rub, and aquaphillic lotion are just a few examples. For any questions, please see a nurse or myself.
