Happy May!  Last month we celebrated National Volunteer Appreciation Month with a wonderful dinner and party for our dedicated and caring volunteers.   We would like to thank all of you for your time, talents and big, loving hearts!  We couldn’t do what we do without each and every one of you.  Also, a big thank you to Pastor Ed and Pastor Jean for letting us use the church for our celebration.  And finally, thank you to Angie Lambert-Cox for entertaining us with her music, her enthusiasm and her wonderful sense of humor.   Come play for us anytime!

This month we will be celebrating Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 13th with a special, “Mimosas with Mom”.  All sons, daughters and families are invited to stop by MNRC between 9:00 and 10:30am to enjoy a mimosa, pastries, fruit and coffee with your moms.  Also, the activity department will be taking special photos of each of the moms prior to Mother’s Day and the pictures will be displayed by the fireplace as well as on the door of the resident rooms.  Please let Heather know if you would like a copy of the picture of your mom.   For all of us who are lucky enough to have our moms in our lives, take a moment to give her a hug; hold her hand; to call her up; to say thank you and I love you.

Looking ahead, Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitative Campus is celebrating 50 years of service this year!!  MNRC opened as Monticello Senior Home on August 10, 1968!  We are busy planning a 50th Anniversary Celebration with lots of carnival food, entertainment, music, games and prizes to commemorate this very special occasion!!  Mark your calendars for Sunday, August 12th from 2:00pm to 4:30pm and watch Facebook and next month’s newsletter for more details.
