Happy March and hopefully we will enjoy an early Spring!  The first full week in March is “Careers in Aging Week”.  Because Americans are living longer, the demand for nurses, nurse aides, home health and personal care workers is on the rise. It is estimated that the U.S. will need between 5.7 and 6.5 million workers to care for the 27 million Americans who will require long term care by 2050.  Help us raise awareness about the rewarding careers available in long term care.  Ask your loved one’s nurse or nurse aide what they love about their career and encourage the next generation to consider a career working with older adults.   March is also recognized as National Professional Social Worker Month.  We would like to thank our Social Worker, Cassandra Wood for her dedication and commitment to the residents and their families.  Cassandra is always available with a listening ear and a lending hand and we are so grateful to have her as part of our team.   As we look ahead to April, we celebrate all of our amazing volunteers with a Volunteer Appreciation Dinner.  Please watch the mail for your personal invitation and more details will also be in the April newsletter.  We are so thankful for each and every one of you!
