Hello from Activities!!
The Great Jones County Fair is such a big event in Monticello that we are going to continue with having our own fair here at MNRC. This year fair week for MNRC is June 10th to 14th. During the week, staff will get a chance to win concert tickets to the Great Jones County Fair by participating in the activities with the residents. Some of the activities include, wheelchair races, Win-it-in-a-Minute games, horse races, a frozen t-shirt game, a cotton candy craft, scavenger hunt, and a pie toss. We will also be serving lots fair food such as funnel cake, corn dogs, cotton candy, popcorn, and lemon shake ups. Of course, we will end the week with good old Bingo.
In June, we also celebrate National Nursing Assistants week, June 13th - 19th. The theme this year is “Nursing Assistants: Creating a Caring Community”. We want to thank our certified nurse’s aides for their hard work, dedication and for the kind, compassionate care they provide. We could not do it without you. You are greatly appreciated!
On Sunday, the 16th we would like to invite families to have “Donuts with Dad” at 9:00 AM in the front lounge. Please stop in and enjoy coffee and donuts with your loved one and check out the pictures of the handsome men at MNRC that are on display. At the end of the month we will be doing several activities related to “the Great Outdoors” including a fishing trip to Camp Courageous. We will load up on the bus at 9AM on June 25th, spend the morning fishing, and enjoy lunch at camp. We’re really looking forward to a fun day of fishing. Some of the other activities are: a dotty dandelion craft, twin-pop door décor and a campfire craft. We will also make S’mores and watch “The Great Outdoors” movie.
