We are happy to celebrate our CNAs this month! Certified Nursing Aides work hard to ensure our residents have basic needs of daily living met and go above and beyond to provide kind and compassionate care! We have a great group of CNAs and appreciate all they do. We will be celebrating CNA week June 11-15th. We want to invite all the CNAs, residents, and any friends to join us in the Main Dining Room on June 12th for an ice cream sundae social and a surprise gift. We plan to start at 1:30pm pm and hope everyone will stick around to participate in the minute to win it game following at 2:15pm. Please take time to thank the CNAs for everything they do.

Also, a reminder to all family and friends as the days are warmer – the residents love to get outside and the sunshine is great for health and moods. However, elderly have sensitive skin and cannot tolerate extended time in the sun. Please bring sunscreen and apply it prior to outings. We can keep it in the nurses’ station and apply it when they do activities outside as well. Ensure the sunscreen is not in an aerosol can. Hats and lightweight long-sleeved shirts are helpful in skin protection as well.

Our administrator, Laurissa will be going on maternity leave in June, as she will be welcoming her 4th child into their family. In her absence, feel free to come to me with any questions or concerns. Laurissa looks forward to bringing the baby in for visits, and plans on returning by the first week in September.

Thank you and happy Summer!
