Activities in Action

Hello June!

Can’t believe it is June already. At the end of May we got exciting news that we can now have small group activities with some restrictions. These small groups can only have 10 or less residents, sitting at their own table, or maintaining 6ft apart. We will rotate residents during these small groups so everyone that wants to participate is able to. The excitement on residents’ faces were priceless when being told they could come out of their room for a small group activity! Donna and I will still continue to provide 1:1 activities with residents.

Although we can now do small group activities, June will still look different than in the past. Unfortunately, we will not be able to have fair week this year as we usually do in June. In saying this, we still have a lot of fun activities planned. Residents will start off the month by making their own photo book collage, making air-dry clay, creating bandana flags, playing around with sand art, and making a Scandinavian style door decoration. Throughout the month we will try different snacks, make root beer floats, and enjoy some popcorn. We will have happy hour on June 18th with Casey’s pizza. Every Wednesday we will live stream music by Chris Ross through Facebook.

Thanks to everyone who sent a HappyGram the past month. The residents love receiving these and we encourage you to send more! If you would like to set up a time to Facetime, Skype, or would like to call during your window visit please call MNRC and ask for Jenn Woods.
