Welcome July,

At Monticello Nursing & Rehab we will be celebrating Independence Day throughout the month of July. To start off the celebration we will be taking a few residents in the Monticello Parade on July 4th. Be looking for our patriotic golf cart in the parade! Residents will be throwing out goodie bags that they put together. We will also be making several patriotic crafts such a flag made of tissue paper, red, white and blue leis and a flag door decoration. July 17th, we will be celebrating America’s Birthday with a “Red, White & Blue Party.” Residents please be sure to wear red, white and blue along with the leis we made.

This month we will be taking a bus trip to the Indian Creek Nature Center in Cedar Rapids on Monday, July 16. We will be getting off the bus to explore the nature center and enjoy a picnic lunch. Coming up in August we will be going to a Cedar Rapids Kernels baseball game. This will be our first time going to a Kernels game. I know the residents are looking forward to this trip! Weather permitting, I will be taking residents on golf cart rides throughout the month. During Jones County Fair week, we will be taking strolls by the fair grounds to reminisce the good ol’ days at the fair.

Happy 4th of July!
