Happy New Year! Hope everyone is staying warm this winter season. With the temps getting much colder I ask that families please check to see if your loved one has a winter coat, gloves, and a stocking hat. Remember when bringing in new clothing or other items please mark the resident's first and last name using a permanent maker. Any clothing item including blankets that are not marked when brought to the laundry can be found in the lost and found. If you would like to look in the lost and found please ask any staff member and they will gladly assist you.

January will be another busy month full of fun activities. To start off the month we will be taking down the Christmas decorations on Tuesday, January 2nd. We will start taking down the decorations at 10:00 am. Volunteers are welcome to help!  We will be celebrating the new year with happy hour, Casey’s pizza and of course noise makers. Our annual Snowflake Ball will be held on January 12th. The Ball will be held in the main dining room with music by Dale Heeren and his band. Residents will eat supper at 5:00 pm and the dance will start at 6:00 pm. Friends and family are welcome to join us for a night filled with dancing, delicious appetizers, and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages!

I will be on vacation from January 16-22. My assistant, Donna will be leading all the activities for the time that I am gone. If you have any questions for the activity department please leave a message with either Cassandra or Carmen and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

January 21-27 is National Activity Processionals Week! Please acknowledge our activity professionals Donna Powelson and Tiffany Bacon for their hard work and dedication to the activity department. Activities truly do make a difference. They provide continuing education, social interactions, exercise for both the body and mind, and enhances quality of life. If you see or know someone that provides activities please take time out of your busy day to tell them thanks!
