Activities in Action
Happy April from the Activity Department!
Big thank you to Heather Dudley and Donna VanZile for making this first month go by so well. I have gotten to meet so many great people (residents and staff). I look forward to all the new activities I will be doing with the residents. With Spring finally here we will be going outside to get some fresh air. It will be fun taking the golf cart to get some flowers and veggies to plant in our raised garden beds. Also, with spring comes some spring cleaning. As staff go around and do their spring cleaning it would be great if families could go through their love one’s belongings and declutter. This is a good time for families to switch out seasonal clothing, so they have more closet room.
During the month of April, we have a few things to celebrate. Volunteer Week, National Laundry/Linen Week, National Occupational Month, Hair Stylist Month, Administrative Professionals Day, Earth Day and Easter. We will be having our Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt at 10:00am on Saturday the 20th. The hunt will take place in the back lawn for ages 0-8. Hope to see everyone there. We will also be doing a resident/staff Easter Egg Hunt throughout the facility on April 17th at 2:15 pm. Staff and residents’ pair up to search for candy filled eggs. The resident who finds the golden egg wins a special prize. To start off the month we will celebrate April Fool’s Day by going over some fact or foolery trivia. Throughout the month we will be making some fun activities to get us in the spirit of spring. Flower pretzel bites, big-eyed bunny pins, coffee filter butterflies, and recycled plastic jugs are a few of the activities we will be making.
Let the April showers bring May flowers.
